Whilst trying to use the Wiimote with a MacBook to control the computer and having read in the Wikipedia article regarding the Wii Remote that it would be possible to use an alternative source of infra-red light in order to use the pointer capability of the handset, we tried a pair of candles, with reasonable success. We used the DarwiinRemote and Osculator programmes to set up the Wiimote for control of the mouse look feature of Second Life.
